Hooray for Dr. Seuss Day, We Say!

We are celebrating the wonderful Dr. Suess today!  On this day in 1904 Theodor Suess Giesel was born, and so we are joining in the national Dr. Suess Day festivities.

First we enjoyed a rollicking reading of The Cat in the Hat during our morning time, and then we did a fun hat craft.

We also read  Hand Hand Fingers Thumb and enjoyed some rhythmic word sequences like “dum ditty dum ditty dum dum dum.”

We played a dice game where we had to number the stripes on the cat’s hat.

And then we thought up some “_at” words and wrote them on our hats.  We just had to color them when we were through.

It was fun!  It was grand!  And I didn’t have a plan.  I wung it!  We enjoyed it!  Sometimes we need a break with the Suess, you understand.  😉
